My Two Cents. What happens when you defund or abolish your police department? What have the Floyd protests changed? Well for one they have caused paranoia and panic. And the changes are going to get a lot of people killed. But do those pushing the changes really care? Let me explain.
Defund the police, abolish the police, and set up police commissions. So what goes in the place of a police department? Who creates it? Who trains them? How long is the training? What's in place while you're creating a replacement ? I've seen no answers.
Defunding a police department. What happens when you have another major catastrophe? In large cities you already don't have enough policeman. Can't call the National Guard or military, cause the protestors already said no to that.
Police commissions. Who appoints them? How long do they serve? Are they elected. If so, another political division? Has anyone thought out these issues? I don't think so. What type of powers do they have?
Emotions are driving people to want the changes, but no answers to so many questions being asked. Fix the problems that you have, don't create new ones. What say you?
