Chicago police are expected to release body camera footage following the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old boy.
After calls from several local officials and members of the community, police on Friday said they’re going to release video footage as soon as possible.
We are encouraged by COPA's commitment to transparency in their decision to release the video in a timely manner. The public deserves a complete window into the split-second decisions our officers are forced to make. https://t.co/4nklwKnfnu

Family and loved ones said Toledo’s death was the result of “unreasonable conduct of a Chicago police officer,” and are demanding justice.
“They had a lot of options, but not kill him. They could’ve shoot at his leg, his arm, up in the air, I don’t know. But not kill my baby,” Elizabeth Toledo, mother of the teen said. “I just want to know what happened to my baby.”
Toledo’s family has thanked everyone in the community for their immense support, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help with memorial expenses.
